The name Fahrenheit characterises the dining experience within Genting Casino Riverlights. Fahrenheit is a social restaurant where the vibrant surroundings and atmosphere mirrors the food we serve. New restaurant and bar plan for Derby's Riverlights. A 12,000 sq ft gym – called Gym City – is being fitted out ahead of its opening, adding to tenants Genting Casino and Holiday Inn. There a number of cool events that Genting Casino Derby have lined up, including Valentine’s Day with a twist, 2-4-1 cocktails and a very reasonable 2 course lunch for £9.95 (t&c’s apply). I am still dreaming of that pork belly. Genting Riverlights Derby Casino was unveiled in late 2011. It is a modern, relatively large casino located in the heart of Derby in the East Midlands – the UK’s most central city. You will find the casino next to Morledge bus station and a 15 minute walk from Derby’s main train station. In December 2006, Genting Group won the bid in obtaining one of two Singapore casino licences to build an integrated resort, named Resorts World Sentosa, under Genting Singapore. The project requirements include hotel, gambling, leisure facilities, convention space and retail.

The casino offers poker tournaments and cash games five days a week. The timings are announced on the website, as well as via Facebook and Twitter.

As a general rule, tournaments begin at 7.30pm on Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights. Entry fees, bonuses, and chips are variable. However, some of the rules apply to all tournaments: there is a standard 10% EB bonus for registering before the first card is dealt, and a £6 fee to enter every day except Thursday when registration is free. Thursday is also self-dealt rather than dealer dealt. Late registration is from 7.30pm. Re-entries are allowed.

The restaurant offers a 25% poker menu, with a free buffet offered on Sundays. Parking is free.

Keep your diaries free for Wednesdays and Sundays, which usually have the 50k chips, 5k bonuses, and £1,250 GDT. Thursday, with its £5 ultimate rebuys and free entry, is ideal for beginners. The casino prides itself on welcoming new players into the fold, so expect plenty of staff on hand to offer a warm welcome.
